Milton’s Antiques Restoration since 1987

Milton’s Antiques would like to offer the services of my workshop to you. It’s been going 2004 now.

I have been a cabinet maker since 1980, I taught woodwork at Glengoffe high from 1980 - 82, own workshop until 1987 then move to London where I got involved in furniture restoration since 1987, largely at Christopher Cooke Restoration. There I learnt a great deal and I was fortunate enough to work on a wide variety of styles and some truly fantastic furniture from: private collections, Auction houses, Dealers such as Nicholas Grindley, Marcus Flacks, Michel Theme, Oscar van Weerdenburg, Ben Hunter and museums worldwide. This provided me with valuable experience of: Tribal Arts, English/Continental furniture, as well as the Chinese furniture for which the workshop was renowned. For the last sixteen years I have also specialized in tribal art, which I enjoy immensely.

Since the closure of Christopher Cooke Restoration at the end of 2004, I have been working hard on various projects along with continuous restoration on some very interesting pieces. I am both pleased and excited to say that the workshop is doing fine, but could do with some more of the lovely oriental and tribal pieces that I have grown to like so much. This does not mean that my interest in English and Continental pieces has dwindled.
